The group shot is a stable of photography. They are a regular occarance at family and social gatherings. You can take better group shots by doing the following:
- Overcast. Easy to work with, because of of the sky will radiant soft light which is perfect for taking shots of people. If the sun is low it may cause part of the sky to be overly glary to look at, which is uncoforable for the group to endure. If this is the case put the sun to the side.
- A sunny day. If sun is high overhead, behind you is fine? This way it will fall in on peoples faces. If sun is low in the sky, behind you is bad because will shine directly in peoples eyes, making them squint. To the side is better. In front of you is very bad, will because peoples faces will appear darker than the background.
