Framing Window To Outside

An interesting technique that looks like you have a very beautiful piece of art hanging from the wall

Props

  • A window
  • Something pretty outside. Or if you like something depressing and ugly.

Light

  • A good time to do this shot is late afternoon when it's less bright outside. If the difference in brightness between inside and outside is too great, then either the contents of the window will appear too bright, or the inside wall will appear too dark.

Instructions

  • Have your camera level with the middle of the window
  • Frame the shot so there's plenty of wall showing around the window. You want the window to look like it's a piece of art hanging on the wall. Experiment with walking backwards while zooming in to change the amount of 'outside' appearing in the window.
